Artist Statement
A single, crystalline instant suspended in the act of becoming catastrophe.
A solitary wine glass, caught mid-plunge, tilts at a fatal angle against a pale, skin-warm void.
The glass is half memory, half prophecy: the upper curve almost transparent, already emptied of its burden, while the lower hemisphere still cradles a dark, viscous crescent of red wine that has slid forward in perfect defiance of the vessel’s motion.
That liquid has begun its escape before the crystal has even accepted its fate; the wine is already mourning the glass that still pretends to hold it.
A single, slender ribbon of crimson spirals from the rim (frozen mid-flight, a scarlet filament suspended between what was and what will shatter).
Light knifes across the scene with surgical cruelty: it ignites the glass into a fragile constellation of white fractures, turns the escaping wine into molten garnet, then abandons the rest to a hushed, breathless beige that feels like the inside of a closed eyelid.
There is no table, no hand, no witness.
Only the moment of parting: the vessel releasing its soul, the soul already one heartbeat ahead of the body that once contained it.
